Salve!

So in case you missed it, my first 50 Ways to Kill a Character was the most successful blog post I’ve ever written (and to be honest, I wrote it half as a joke for my own sanity.) Now that I have 5 books and counting under my belt, I decided it was time to make a part II. Read on, brave writers, and make sure you subscribe to my blog for more writer tips and support like this list! Continue reading →

Good evening all,

I wanted to share this fantastic Kickstarter that was shared with me earlier today. It’s a pretty cool idea for the creator to travel around to different areas an share all the incredibly awesome Steampunk events that happen at conventions around the country. Speaking as someone with a very limiting schedule (Teaching isn’t exactly a flexible job!)

Update To Brass Legionnaire’s Page

Hi everyone,

I’ve updated the information on Brass Legionnaire’s book page above. I’m planning on having a friend do some general clean up work on the book, which will be significantly revised in the next month. Backers of the kickstarter who pledge $25 or more or add some money for additional print copies of Brass Legionnaire will get the updated version. Already have a copy? No worries! I’m looking at cleaning up various problems and smoothing the story out, so your old version will not be ‘obsolete!’ and if I choose to add an additional chapter, I’ll make it available for free here on the website, as that’s fair for everyone. (Although I want you to buy my books, I don’t want you to buy a new copy of Brass Legionnaire just for another chapter, that’s silly!)

In essence, I’ve added character plots for Julius, Constantine and Corbus. See the overall design of their story plots in BL, and learn a bit more about the characters!

Also, there’s only EIGHT DAYS LEFT IN THE KICKSTARTER! Help us reach $1250 and everyone will get BOTH of my novellas for free! Woo! We’re only about $230 away, so every dollar helps!

Hi everyone, just figured I’d send out a quick update on Iron Tribune.

1.) Cover art is under way! (Yay!)

2.) The manuscript is at the editor’s, and thus is under way as well.

3.) Kickstarter plans are in the works. Nothing will happen until I have cover art to show people.

4.) Outlining on Steel Praetorian is going well! I’m seven chapters in already (outlining).

That’s it! Enjoy the rest of your April!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post briefly to let people know that a.) I’m alive and b.) I’m still typing. I finished up an entire chapter featuring everyone’s favorite bad guy/assassin/mechawolf thief. Now I’m typing up the end of a chapter introducing the newly handicapped but no less iron-willed Octavia.

By the way, the winner of the poster contest from my last couple of posts was Mrs. Judy Stone! Congrats! Your posters will be in the mail by Friday. Woo! Enjoy!

Author and Steampunk September Founder Penelope Bartotto is a veteran book reviewer and avid reader. She’s been reviewing books since the late 1990s, and happened to contact me a while ago to invite me to join her Steampunk September event. Now in it’s 3rd year, Steampunk September highlights genre authors and their works, as well as providing authors with a wonderful outlet to meet new people, expand their readership, and hear about tips and tricks from other authors. From her website…

Many think they know what the genre is about, and many have no idea. Our goal is to bring the genre to the attention of the Universe and beyond. Featuring authors, illustrators, artisans, and more; we aim to bring you into the world of steampunk, literally.

So enjoy the interview, and I’ll be proud to join her in the events during Steampunk September, which will feature both Brass Legionnaire and Copper Centurion!
