Project 27 – Mini-Boss

Mini-Boss – A New Project 27 Poem

Salve! I was definitely inspired last night, so I put together another poem for Project 27. Hopefully you guys are liking these. I’ll see how I feel about this one – thoughts? Remember to subscribe during NaNoWriMo to see more of what I’ve been writing!

Mini-Boss

By Daniel Ottalini

Brother’s up
I am too, wiping off sister’s nighttime
drool
Bus is coming
Can’t be late for school
“Shhhh”
Mom is sleeping, let her rest.
We know she’s been working
Far too
Late

Please Oh Please,
Make for me
Waffles with syrups
Chef Sister Please!

A groan, a grunt
No waffles to be found
Now sister listen
As teacher says
Do you want cereal
Or cereal?
Mira, hermana, you have to eat
You said you were hungry
Now eat, eat, EAT!

One crisis down, a million to go
Now
Help me put on brother’s shoes
No, not while you’re
Eating
Cereal

Do I have to do everything myself?
Buttons, jackets, hats, scarves, lunches, homework too
Big sister to the rescue
Big sister shooting for the stars
Trying hard to hide
Any scars
She smiles and puts the fears away for now
Worries can wait, but the bus is never late.
