Salve! Hot on the heels of submitting my last novella to my ‘people’ for formatting, I’ve got another project raring to go!
You may remember earlier this year that I was writing a vaguely fairy tale inspired story connected to the Romanpunk world. It was already connected with my next novella – that intricately named “History of Rome and the colonies of New Caesaria (work in progress title, definitely). Since I’ve been so into writing the last few weeks, I think this is a good time to get working on this novella.
Thus, the concurrence with Camp NaNoWriMo is perfect! My goal – 40,000 words. The novella is not focused on ONE story, rather on a series of alternate history “primary documents” It goes against the normal rules of “show, don’t tell” but I’m actually really excited to write this “history book”.
Anything you’d want to see? I’m thinking four or five mini short stories within the larger anthology. So far, I’ve got journal entries from one of the navigators leading the way to the west. I’m also going to lean heavy into the Native tribes world, and include some of what they’re experiencing as part of this novella. Any other ideas?
Current Word Count: 3,400 words.
