Year of Accountability – Weeks of June 14th & 21st

Good morning! Welcome back to another Year of Accountability post. Hopefully, with school done, I’ll be back on the right swing of things for this!

So, what got done these last two weeks? Beyond finishing up school, preparing for summer school, and transitioning to pseudo – summer mode, not tons.

  1. I finished a map that will help me in writing out both my next novella and the next novel series.
  2. I continued to work on promoting my novels & novellas.
  3. I continue to prepare to join Camp NaNoWriMo (and I’ll actually be doing it this year! Argh!)

So what are my goals? I want to finish planning for my History of New Caesaria novella. Since this book will be the basis of my next series idea, I want to make sure that I look at all sides. This means I’ll have to do a lot more research into Cherokee, Creek, Cree, and Iroquois history. I think it is really critical that any book – especially an alternate history – that includes the perspectives of Native American tribes on colonization, be very well researched. As a white author, I want to make sure how I write is both genuine and representative of the time and place, regardless of the ‘alternate’ history component.

Anyways, I’m super excited to begin this next part. The goal is to finish the novella by the end of July, meaning I could have it ready to be published by winter, 2020. That would be amazing!

Remember, you can get my latest novella – the Last Gladiator – now! Rush over to Smashwords, (Kindle) Amazon, or (Nook) Barnes and Noble to get your copy!
